1892 Barber Half Dollar (Proof)

In 1892, Mint Engraver Charles E. Barber’s new coinage debuted, bringing a stoic, neoclassical aesthetic to American silver and ending the long run of the Seated Liberty design. The half dollar was the flagship of this new family, and these first-year proofs represent the design in its sharpest, most idealized form.
