These terms govern every fixed-price purchase and auction win at Snowpack Numismatics. By placing an order or bid, you're accepting them.
Inventory is one-of-one
Every coin in the fixed-price inventory is a single, specific coin — not one of many. When it sells, it's gone. Adding a coin to your cart doesn't reserve it; the coin is reserved only when payment clears.
Pricing + surcharges
- All prices in USD and valid for the duration the coin is listed. We may change the price on unsold coins at any time.
- Credit card surcharge — 3%. Colorado legalized credit card surcharging in 2022 and we pass along the processing cost rather than bake it into every price. Debit cards, ACH, and other non-credit methods are surcharge-free. The surcharge is clearly itemized at checkout.
- Sales tax. Collected where required by law. Colorado residents pay state + local rates. Most other US states exempt investment-grade coins; the checkout handles this automatically.
Offers
Any coin can receive an offer. Mike reviews offers personally and responds same-day — accept, counter, or a clear no. Offers do not reserve the coin; if someone else buys at ask price while your offer is under review, we'll notify you by email and the offer is withdrawn.
Auctions
- Cadence. Auctions run the first Sunday of each quarter — January, April, July, and October — at 8 PM Eastern. Catalog publishes a week before close.
- Staggered closes. Lots close in sequence 60 seconds apart. A bid placed in the last 60 seconds extends that lot's close by 2 minutes (anti-sniping).
- Strict reserves. Some lots have a reserve. If bidding doesn't reach it, the lot goes unsold — no post-auction negotiation on reserved lots.
- No buyer's premium. Hammer price is what you pay — no 15-20% stacked on top. Shipping and applicable sales tax are the only additions.
- Auction sales are final. 14-day returns do not apply to auction wins — preview the catalog, ask questions, and bid only on coins you want.
Authenticity
Every coin in inventory is certified by PCGS, NGC or CACG (occasionally ANACS for the right piece) and sold in the holder. We stand behind the authenticity of every coin indefinitely — if a coin you buy from us is ever determined by the original grading service to be counterfeit or misattributed in a way they'll correct under their guarantee, we'll buy it back at the original sale price. Raw coins, coins cracked out of their holders, and after-market modifications are outside this guarantee.
Payment + shipping timing
Payment is due at checkout for fixed-price purchases and within 3 business days of hammer for auction wins. Late auction payment may forfeit the lot and trigger a restriction on future bidding. We ship within 2 business days of payment clearing.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado. Any dispute that can't be resolved directly will be settled by binding arbitration in Denver.
