Large Cents

Large cents (1793–1857) are the oldest regularly circulating U.S. coins still accessible to collectors. The early types — Flowing Hair, Liberty Cap, Draped Bust, Classic Head, and Coronet — span more than six decades of the young republic's history. Even circulated examples carry the weight of genuine American antiquity; Mint State coins are genuinely rare.
