Charles E. Barber’s Liberty Head quarter, introduced in 1892, represents the peak of late nineteenth-century American coinage design. While the business strikes circulated heavily during the Gilded Age and Progressive Era, the Philadelphia Mint’s carefully struck Proofs were preserved from the moment they left the dies.
This 1907 issue represents the series in its late-middle years, struck during a period of refined minting technology.
