Quarter Eagles
The quarter eagle was a gold coin worth $2.50, minted from 1796 to 1929. The denomination features famous designs such as the Capped Bust, Classic Head, Liberty Head, and Bela Lyon Pratt's innovative Indian Head design, which features an incuse (sunken) strike.

The 1808 Capped Bust and the 1841 Liberty Head (known as the "Little Sister") are legendary rarities in the series. The 1911-D Indian Head quarter eagle is the key date of the 20th century.
Grading Guidelines
Quarter eagles are graded with close attention to surface contact marks, as gold is a soft metal. For the incuse Indian Head design, wear is first visible on the cheekbone and the feathers of the headdress.
